Doug Davenport

Doug Davenport is a Washington, DC based public affairs professional and business entrepreneur with strong bipartisan relationships across all levels of federal and state government.

His professional career spans 25 years of public policy and political advocacy campaigns inside Washington and across the 50 states. Mr. Davenport’s areas of policy expertise include: technology, financial services, foreign affairs, gaming, transportation, and intellectual property issues. During the historic 2016 Presidential Campaign, Mr. Davenport was an early supporter of the Donald J. Trump Campaign, serving as a Senior Advisor for the Pennsylvania Delegate Primary and the Political Whip Operation for the 2016 Republican National Convention in Cleveland, OH.

Additionally, since 2008, Mr. Davenport has launched several new business ventures that combine his public affairs experience with his love of music, sports, and entertainment. These ventures include an event management and live concert production business that raises funds for Veteran Service Organizations; a 501c3 aimed at increasing voter participation amongst motorsports fans in America; a restaurant and luxury transportation investment group; and a music and film documentary company. 

From 2000 until 2008, Mr. Davenport served as the founding partner of DCI Associates, the government affairs division of DCI Group, one of the largest independently owned public affairs companies in the United States. In this role, Mr. Davenport provided strategic counsel to corporations and non-profit entities seeking legislative and public affairs solutions on Capitol Hill and within the Executive Branch. He also helped build and manage a 50-state grassroots network of political and policy experts to execute large scale public policy campaigns on behalf of the firm’s Fortune 500 clients. During his tenure at DCI, Mr. Davenport served as a team member of 2 public affairs award winning technology clients featured by Time Magazine and The Wall Street Journal. 

From 1996 until 2000, Mr. Davenport served as Director of Government Relations for GTECH Corporation (now IGT Corporation), the largest manufacturer and supplier of government run lottery systems in more than 80 jurisdictions worldwide. Mr. Davenport’s responsibilities included the supervision and coordination of all U.S. government affairs activities in 28 states, and oversight and management of GTECH’s Federal legislative activity in Washington, D.C. Additionally, Mr. Davenport represented GTECH in its membership and participation in various political and governmental associations such as the Democrat and Republican Governors’ Associations, Democrat and Republican Congressional Campaign Committees and numerous other political and governmental organizations, across the country. Mr. Davenport also served as the Government Affairs Committee Staff Director, responsible for managing the legal and compliance oversight of GTECH government affairs lobbyists and political contribution programs, worldwide. 

Mr. Davenport’s public affairs career began in 1992 as a research associate at Black, Manafort, Stone & Kelly (BMSK) public affairs. During his tenure at BMSK, Mr. Davenport supported the firm's public affairs activities on behalf of such clients as Donald Trump, American Airlines, The Revlon Corporation and several countries, abroad. Additionally, Mr. Davenport traveled extensively to Florida and Pennsylvania to run grassroots and referendum campaigns on behalf of the company’s Fortune 100 clients. In 1993-1994, Mr. Davenport served as a Washington, D.C. travel aide to former U.S. President Richard Nixon. 

Mr. Davenport holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and History from the University of Vermont. He currently resides in Arlington, VA with his wife, Kelley, and twin children, Keegan and Finnegan.
